- Fun fact - Ernst Florens Friedrich Chladni (30 November 1756 – 3 April 1827) was a German physicist and musician. He is sometimes referred to as the father of acoustics.
- Interesting fact for a child/teenager – An Odd Name: They’re named for the German physicist Ernest Chladni who popularized them in the mid-1700s. His name is pronounced: kläd’nêz.
- Interesting fact for an Adult – Instruments made of wood, string, and metal move in complex and nonlinear ways; that's partly why the sounds they make are so rich.

Session Plan
Set out your materials and make sure your equipment is downloaded and working. Ensure that the power is on. Proceed with experiment by; - Plug speaker in and turn on app. - Check volume and vibration, then turn off. - Apply mounting tape to the bottom of the metal plate, making sure its in the centre. - Stick speaker to the metal plate with the mounting tape already applied. - Place speaker back into foam holder. - Pour salt over metal plate, ensuring that it is covered. - Turn on speaker and watch the patterns appear as you try different volumes and amounts of salt.
