BSSSC Session Plan - 17 September

Part 1 - Welcome to The Edge

  • Sign in/Covid things
  • General Induction
  • Tour of The Edge and the machinery and explain the process for the wall relief will be mostly CNC/laser

Part 2 - SLQ Gallery Tour

  • Meet Helen at the Gallery and confirm size of wall relief (8m x 4.5m)
  • Discuss the wall relief in the context of the other work and the journey of the participants

Part 3 - Sharing

  • Show and describe paper cuts done in previous session and individual works
  • Discuss how we might combine the designs

Part 4 - CNS Demonstration

  • CNC Demonstration with Andrei

Part 5 - Refine Design and Design Detailing in Groups

  • Cut up individual paper cuts, retaining the buildings and tunnels that will inform the final design of the wall relief
  • Draw up the design on cardboard in 1:5 scale
  • Texture samples
