Cardboard Kaiju 2.0 tabletop game

Brisbane city is under attack! A giant monster has risen from the sea to wreak havoc upon the populace. Gather your team and together, you must defend your cardboard metropolis from the onslaught of the… CARDBOARD KAIJU

Come along and join in!

No bookings just turn up and wait for your turn. Small groups or individuals welcome (up to 4 people can play at a time).

This tabletop game experience has been created by a number of young people and community members at State Library of Queensland, The Edge.

The set up

Venue: Bay window at The Edge

Staffing:

1 x program officers (available to do tours of The Edge and assist with signing of photo release forms)

Game master

Videographer (who will do vox pops with participants on their experience of the game)

Equipment:

  • Table for game play
  • A screen for the media board to connect with
  • lounge chairs for hanging out in
  • snacks (i.e. chips)
  • speakers for music
  • projector screen (to set atmosphere with the game logo projected)
  • projector

Learnings

The media board was a huge hit and added tension, atmosphere and humour to the playing of the game. What was noted was that the amount of videos was perfect. In terms of sounds- a sound per card/action would have added to the experience.
