====== Activity Outline ======

This activity was to look at how 3D printers work and how they can help us, now and in the future 

====== Materials needed ======

Power boards and extension leads

Laptops with printer software installed and internet access 

3D printers 

Printer accessories (extra ink, glue, scraper)

Tinkercad account (free on signup)

Previous items made to show sizes and quality of the printer standards

====== Recommendations ======

Watch Youtube for ideas on what to make

Previous experience using Tinkercad or 3D printer was not necessary 

====== Discussion ======

After seeing how a 3D printer works and understanding that it can take “hours” to print something. We designed our character/ item in Tinkercad and then imported it into the 3D printer software. Here we could resize the item to fit the print pad and to set the standard of printing. The standard of printing determined how long it would take to print so we made adjustments to the standard to suit the sessions time frame

====== Reflection ======

We had a group of 4 – this will depend on how many printers you have. The printer played up (like any technology session can) A back up session/time frame is advised.
